Is Vanity Fair?

Vanity- This term acclaims a touch of pessimism; And we have all been preached to believe 'Pride goes before a fall' and always stay humble. Does a little pride hurt that much? Maybe, if the guy next to you prays for closure to your boring self talks or your old best pal after so many years still looks chic and younger than you.

For All that Glitters:

You can never deny that everyone is under the microscope all the time; We judge people almost 90% of that person before making the first talk. For instance, Who would you choose for a job? A well-dressed, clean shave or a shabby looking, jean-clad guy; Appearances do matter and a little sense of pride embedding it is not so harmful.

Vanity is not a Sin:
There's a hairline discretion between making a decent, elegant presence and overdoing it. Before condemning pride as a narcissistic hang-up, look at the bright side and approach it healthily.

You can focus your self-love to boost confidence levels, risk for newer ventures and better your personality; And you do know how glad it is to be 'the apple of everyone's eye'.

When Reality Kicks:
Our Society perceives Proud Peacocks as shallow, heartless and egocentric, it can be true or not so; Still one must brave all insults and criticism. Only the timid, humble Cinderella gets the Prince and not her snobby step sisters. But life is not a fairy tale, we've to make a living.

Its our flaws that makes us more interesting and enthralling, until it interferes with others' lives; If people avoid your company, its then you start to worry.

Face the Brunt:
Too much of anything is danger. Self obsession can drive people crazy enough to dig their own graves; Spending all money and time on cosmetic surgeries, yo-yo diets, steroids and all such madness to get the perfect look will sure hit a pitfall.

Take a reality check and stay out of delusions. An hour long makeup to get a coke from the vending machine downstairs is really a bit over the top.

Swallow the Pride:
No one can be a Jack of All. Accept your mistakes boldly and practice modesty if a situation demands it. As much as you love your self, so do others; So no harm done with a little shower of compliments and appreciation on to others.

Vanity differs from person to person and there is no exact measure.
However its influence on one's persona determines character and credibility. Looking at the mirror and the image projects a confident and charming you, when people in your social circles welcome you, then just Stay Proud to be You!
